How We Research
In one sentence: Stylen buying guides are editorial decision frameworks based on stated criteria, public product information, and human review — not secret wear labs or paid rankings.
What kind of recommendations we publish
Guides answer a genuine shopper decision (for example: choosing one everyday shoulder bag for commute and weekend). We do not mass-generate colour × brand doorway pages simply because keywords exist.
How a recommendation is built
- Define the decision — who it is for, and what “good” means in that context (capacity, structure, formality, care, budget band).
- Set criteria — written into the guide’s methodology when structured fields are used.
- Consult sources — brand and retailer listings, materials and dimension notes where published, and Stylen’s own editorial standards. Sources are listed on the guide when required.
- Write differentiated picks — why we picked it, best for, avoid if, trade-offs, and alternatives — so recommendations are not an affiliate feed.
- Human review — an editor (and reviewer when named) checks clarity, honesty of claims, and affiliate disclosure before publish.
How AI may be used
AI may assist research organisation, outlining, and drafting. AI does not publish
unsupervised. Guides flag aiAssisted when AI helped produce substantial prose.

What we do not claim
- We do not claim lab testing, durability trials, or leather-grade certification by default
- We do not claim to own or wear products unless a guide explicitly says so
- We do not invent star ratings, review counts, or “verified purchase” language
- We do not treat AI outfit looks as product reviews
When a guide cannot support a claim, we say so in methodology limitations or we omit the claim.
Updates and corrections
Guides show publish and updated dates. Material changes (criteria, picks, or important
product facts) should bump updatedDate and, when claims were re-checked,
lastReviewed. Report errors via Contact.
